The stated handle length is the total length of the tool because the fiberglass core of the handle goes all the way through the head. We don’t offer the Notched PIG on a 28” handle because the standard length of a Halligan bar is 30” so the 28” handle is too short to marry up. If you would like to request a 28” Notched PIG, please contact us.
We typically send the Piglet out on a 28” handle because it is meant to be a personal carry tool. If you would like to request a Piglet on a longer handle, please contact us.
No, we used to offer the PIG on a wooden handle but found the handles would occasionally break during over-strikes or they would become loose during prying. The fiberglass handle is definitely the best choice with the PIG.
Currently we are experiencing backorders due to difficultly getting heads and handles. NOTCHED PIGs in particular have been affected, you will be contacted about your order to let you know an estimated shipping time. In stock orders will ship generally within 3-5 business days of placing your order. It depends on what tools head/handle combinations we currently have made and if they are available to ship right away. Chris puts all the tools together and he works a regular shift at the fire station, so the 3-5 day window gives him time to put the tool together and for the epoxy to dry before the tool ships. If there is an exception to this timeframe we will contact you directly about your order.
Our orders include ground shipping to your destination and assumes tools will ship within 3-5 days. If you require expedited shipping on your order, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Sometimes we do not have a particular head/handle combination set and ready to go so it is not always possible to ship a PIG out right away, but we will do our best. In 2022, we have been experiencing backorders, especially on NOTCHED PIGs. These are taking much longer to ship out (see banner along top of page for any backorder information).
Contact us and we will get you the appropriate forms to exchange the tool. We will let you know what the additional shipping fees will be for the exchange.
Returns can only be made on items that have not been used and we request returns occur within 30 days of purchase. We charge a 10% restocking fee for items returned not due to our mistake. Contact us if you would like to make a return and we will provide you with the return address.
